Shiyan studies urban climate tipping points and positive intervention pathways, linking them with urban development scenarios and infrastructure resilience.

Shiyan is a PhD researcher at the Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter. His research focuses on positive tipping points and scenario analysis in urban climate change, and on how infrastructure pathways can strengthen climate resilience.

He also examines urban energy and emissions, as well as the role of deliberate interventions in accelerating urban climate action. His doctoral research is fully funded through international scholarship support.
